Reviews for "A Matter of Caos: Episode 1"

More depth than I gave it credit for.

I did like that the characters are not as one dimensional as some stories have it, but I am finding out a lot of games are having the "Ugly mean brute is won over by kindness and honesty." When ever an option is given like that, it's almost always the best case.

I did like that the story was idiot proof. I knew that the "guest" would be -immune- to one option but I choose it any way.

The items weren't a click fest. I honestly think you put more work into the story element than the game element and in all honesty I' 100% on board with that. The game had a very "Under a Killing Moon." feel to it and I am a sucker for a good detective game.

I still can't shake the thought that the "lady in distress," Is the cult leader but that's for another game :)

The music was right on with me as well, pulled you into each scene nicely.

Thank you, we're glad you liked it! :) It's good to see you caught the game's essence, and so we hope you'll like all the episodes as well. We'll soon post the other episodes here on NG, let us know your mind about them! Thank you again and keep having fun!

You really put a lot of effort making this game. It took me a long time to finish all episodes but it was worth it. It was highly creative and always put me to think.
Thinking who Faust may be for example.
In the end based on clues giving in the game I am sure Faust is actually Lora Malaguard.
Why?
1)The ring why she had it?
2)Office with view of the city.
3)Sometimes the way she talked.
4) She used many names.
5) Sometimes instead of saying we she would say that is was her or for herself.
There are also other reasons I don't remember exactly.
I feel back about the Blade I liked him.
The game threw a lot of things I never expected and it ended up been so complicated. It started as just finding a girl and it ended up been out of this world getting deeper and deeper.
For those who can't wait you can play the other chapters in kong site.

WOW! We are so happy you liked our games; apart from that, you surely got most of what we put there. :)
About the dangerous SPOILERS you posted here, we'll answer you in a PM. :)

I love how the map screen music is also danger dolans outro music (youtube)

ExperaGameStudio responds:

We're sorry but, to be honest, we have no idea of what you're talking about. :/

Very good game. Great music, gameplay, art, options, purchasing choice, post-credits FINAL The End, literary and game references, and story.

Only a few nitpicking things that can be improved:

1. A lot of spelling and grammatical errors. The translators should do a better job.

2. At one point, I tried to get rid of the Closet, but even clicking his mind for his thoughts didn't give any hints for that, only a hint for the secret number code. So I had to look for a walkthrough in order to figure out how to get past that.

3. Linear and only one way to solve each puzzle. It seems that there should be multiple ways of solving each puzzle, when considering all the items that you have. For example, I could have used the Lighter in dark places instead of the Flashlight when I needed light. Or I could have asked Mick or Giza to help me move the Closet, or get the dog to help me move the Closet, or any of a variety ways that would also make sense that would be better than only one limited way of solving all the puzzles.

4. It would be better to have a scrolling conversation instead of only the last thing that someone said showing up on the screen, so you could scroll up and reread something that was said before.

ExperaGameStudio responds:

Thank you for liking our game! :) Answering to your points:

About the grammatical errors, we know we made a lot of mistakes; sadly, none of us is a native English speaker, and we tried our best. In the future, we hope we'll do better. :)
About the linear thing, making a 'multiple solution system' for the game would have required a MUCH longer time to develop, even if we liked the idea. In the next AMOC adventure, though, we'll definitely try that!

We hope our future games will be even better, and that you'll try and like them! Have a nice day and keep having fun!

Great game!! I didn't think I'd like it at first but I'm glad I gave it a chance. I'm looking forward to the next part...Great work!!

ExperaGameStudio responds:

Thank you, it's great you changed your mind. :) We'll release the second episode, here on Newgrounds, within the next weeks; thank you again and keep having fun! :)
