Reviews for "Hero Simulator"

Great game, but this update just reset my game. I'm down to 1 again..

Fun! There's a great amount of complexity here, but I also detect a lot of lost opportunities.

Despite having a lot of information thrown at you at once that needs to be examined carefully to fully understand how stuff works, you can really just blunder your way through the first playthrough. Simply buying whatever upgrade is available the moment the game tells you you can afford it is enough up until the... late-game I guess (which are the few quests leading up to the Holy Grail).

On my second run, I've got a good grasp on Honor and Gold management, as well as how to properly use the Investment mechanic. I invested more quickly on time-saving upgrades, like Pets and upgrading my Hero's Class ASAP, but truthfully, I don't think I saved that much more time than the first playthrough.

Resetting the Journey rewards Hero Souls which ONLY increases Questing speeds. It only marginally increases the speed of each New Journey, and the lack of anyway to directly increase Gold and Honor gain is one of the missed opportunities I mentioned. Clicker Heroes, another Idle game I like, had Ancients, which you can invest Hero Souls in (obtained when the game is reset, sacrificing DPS for other permanent benefits). A real shame really.

Investing in New Housing seems a bit pointless, outside of the permanent Honor bonus from all quests. The extra spacing seems unnecessary since I don't seem to get more party members than what was available in my first run. Perhaps there are planned updates to rectify this?

The News Feed system is probably the most innovative feature, being rewarding to those who pay attention. Timing upgrades when discounts are available, Investing when there is less Risk or greater Profit... BUT Investment can really be ignored for the most part in the early game. By the time the investment pays off, you would have done more than enough Quests to get back what was spent on the investment, and then some. Investment only becomes very necessary for quickly getting new quests leading up to Searching for the Holy Grail, since Honor and Gold gains slow down by the time you can do either Jewelry or Hunt Trolls.

The small quotes my hero makes, how he reacts to upgrades, guild quotes... basically every bit of dialogue in the game is VERY charming. I love it, that is one thing that makes me like this over Clicker Heroes, since it feels like the world's alive beyond simple flavor texts.

Overall, a charming idle game from the start, but almost no reason to use the Reset Journey mechanic. The only long-term goals appear to be getting your Own Province (Building) and the Hero's Jewelry Statue (Tools). Though it might take a while, it can be accomplished in the first or second run. Going through the Hero's Journey more than once or twice is not enjoyable, and I think I can simply end my playthrough here. But don't be disheartened! There's a great base here, and if you have the mind to, you can build on it, and eventually rival the biggest Idle games out there.

I like it, but after 200 lvl doesn't matter your production but only stock profit.

Why is there so much space for recruits when you can only have the 15.

it reset my whole game. XC but otherwise it is 5 stars XC
