Reviews for "Drink Beer, Neglect Family"

Very fun and addictive game. Only thing missing is a high scoreboard so we can see who's the biggest alcoholic and try to beat them.

esayitch responds:

Thanks! I might add that a ways down the road :P

Wish there was a better visual for which effect you have besides just the text top left. Other than that great gameplay overall, but could be a little prettier.

esayitch responds:

Yeah I agree with that, was going to make a pop-up that said which effect the player picked up + an animation or something for each effect, but I didn't have enough time :(

Really nice, this one, is - but, the "can not climb ladders" and the "falls of bridges" effects should clear after some seconds in my opinion, shouldnt they?

esayitch responds:

Why would they? They clear after you pick up the next beer anyways, and they don't preventfrom getting anywhere a beer might spawn, just limit the paths you can take :)

I had 26 beers.

My wife Moira killed herself.
My daughter was shot and killed while hooking.
My son Walcott contracted HIV.

esayitch responds:

1 more beer and something worse happens to Walcott as well :(

wow, this is kinda an interesting game. The gamer in me wants to keep playing but the human (and husband in me) kinda feels a weird emotion of almost sadness or something seeing the families further and further get destroyed the more i play it. its like a weird metaphor almost

esayitch responds:

That was one of my earliest intentions for the game, to create a contrast in most aspects of it: cute graphics + audio but very sad story, wanting to get a high score but not wanting the family to suffer... this in order to highlight the contrast in the main character: he obviously doesn't want bad things to happen to his family but he wants to "take refuge" from his sadness/depression and he uses beer to do that.
