Reviews for "Hunting"

it's... average. I feel like the timing and the pacing on the overall piece is a little awkward, but not awkward enough for it to be funny.

I think showing more reaction shots of the kid freaking out would have made the situation funnier.

i thought it was good! the jokes made me laugh but the sound effects could have been better and scenes could have transitioned a bit smoother

Animation- generally alright, but there's a lot to improve.
1) Simulation of walking was bad in the beginning. It was smooth line.
2)choppy and awkward in many places. The part were he was walking forward with a gun for example as he was about to engage the rabbit. Should be more subtle, less exaggerated.
3) poorly planned in some places. The part when he was beholding the three bunnies. Perspective shot was awkward and unnatural- the bunnies were too close! You could have started zoomed in on the hunter, and then zoomed out to the proper distance of the rabbits. Also, the part when he dives behind the log. He doesn't duck even once, and he doesn't get shot at.

Art- same level as the animation, maybe lower
-body proportion could have been more consistent, especially where he spotted the three rabbits. As I mentioned, this is also a perspective issue.
-background is meh. Alright.
-character designs are decent.

Story- well, there's a story. Mood change from hunting experience with son to action packed, gun-toting bunnies was alright. I believe this was the point, but I didn't really get into it because the animation, while mostly cohesive and clear, was not gripping enough. There should have been more indication of danger. The characters should act like there's something at stake.

This could have been accomplished at the scene where the son didn't know who his father is. Rabbit could have had an "is he stupid, expression." Son could have been shaking, or looked more worried. Delivery is CRUCIAL!

3.0 stars for above average.

Moderately entertaining but also pretty random in a way, that I didn't quite get and with references to films I haven't seen. I'm guessing that it was meant to be funny, but I think it just came out weird. Sorry about that. A suggestion: Avoiding "dead air" (scenes without sounds at all) would do wonders to keep the tension in the story.
