Reviews for "Frozen Islands"

When you do too much damage, the enemy health goes into the negative and your guys stop moving. please fix this.

A pretty great strategy game! Great visuals, mechanics that are easy to understand; still require some tinkering to master. Lots of upgrades factor in on addition too, though I wouldn't mind if progress was a bit faster! Love the viking theme btw. Nice work!

Really fun game, not as strategic as it may seems, you always be better dumping all your powers as fast as you can in the first battles to have them back for later fights.

My big complain is the difficulty curve. The level estimations are waaaaayy below the real level necessary to pass them. I don't mind hard games and a little grinding, but it would be nicer to have more islands with a less steep curve.

could use a way to make money when you only have the final boss left, otherwise pretty fun

I like this installment of Stalling for Time: Norse Competitive Ice-skating Edition...

I like this concept and how it's presented, it simply lacks in one spot that is critical.

The upsides:
Graphics - unlike most Flash games of similar graphics quality, the framerate of this one doesn't suffer from ads on the side. It also doesn't automatically downgrade itself and make matters worse. This may not be an issue for most computers, but I'm on a dinosaur at this point, and it's impressive how smoothly this ran.

Variety - The variety of unit types and special abilities could have been more than enough to keep players interested if they'd been broken up over the progression a bit more, but even so, it still supports itself to a flexibility of playstyle.

The downside:
Progression - I'm not sure if I'm just an idiot, but it took 2 and a half HOURS of grinding and taxing my villages dirt-poor just for me to unlock all of the units and support. I stopped playing before I even started retaking the inner islands because of this, and it leaves a bad taste that the difficulty level gave me the finger so early on.

Solid effort to appreciate, but it missed the mark just enough to be irritating. Take to heart that a lack of clarity and a sudden difficulty spike isn't a great mix for every style.
