Reviews for "Mr Jonathan's Apple Quest"

good art but the jumping is too floaty

H20DDs responds:

Yeah, I thought it was a bit floaty, but when I turned down the jumping mechanic, he can't reach the other platforms for some reason. I don't know, but I'll take a look at it. Thanks for the feedback.

I didn't have the patience to finish it because of the control. Accelerations and decelerations should be much higher when you're on the ground.
Graphics are good, music too. (just make the green static enemies a little more obvious).
Could be better, but yet enjoyable.

H20DDs responds:

Interesting. Thanks for the feedback.

Sorry, buddy. Nice try, but the controls are really bad. And has a lot of bugs. For instance, I nearly got stuck on the moon of the secret level. I only managed to get to level 2, because it got too boring, sorry. But here's something I really liked, the soundtrack. For some reason, I enjoyed it.

The music seemed decent, graphics varied in quality but were generally alright. Problem is the game is... boring. The only consequence in the game is that when you die, you have to restart the level. The incredibly odd momentum physics contribute to some awful ice physics. Moving platforms that just go up and down slowly feel like filler for time. Do a bit of overhaul on the engine, touch up some of the graphics, that's my recommendation.

H20DDs responds:

I agree. The game is pretty basic. I would have liked to put more complex game mechanics in the game, but I couldn't figure out the coding behind it. Also, I agree that the slippery-ness of the game is annoying. However, when I turn down the movement speed, it makes the character move too slow. Maybe I can find some middle ground. Thanks for the feedback.

The controls are so floaty; it seems to take several seconds to start moving, and then once I'm moving it's nearly impossible to stop, I go skidding around everywhere. Then I have to spend 10 seconds waiting for each platform to get near enough...no thanks.
