Reviews for "PrincessLuna GoGoGo"

Just 2 thoughts:

1. It's confusing when you mix mouse clicks and arrow key controls (you need to click to start the game).
2. You should give some kind of indicator to show you "died," instead of just returning to the main screen.

PrincessNinjato responds:

kind of hard to do with the free version of this software but when I get back to my main style of games there will be a death noticed and more, Hope you can still enjoy this game

While rudimentary as hell, there's actually a lot of promise here. The game is quick to load and has surprisingly tight controls. I can stop when I want to but it doesn't have a jerky feel. I can jump and change directions three times as needed without feeling too floaty. I also don't feel weighty at the same time.

That's where my praise ends. The game often jitters. While not resulting in my death, it is annoying. It's as though the frame rate tanks when the screen pans. Only sometimes though not every instance.

And also, the hit boxes are just atrocious. I died several times to the first guy from clipping it with the air.

The fidelity of the game is weak but it's at least complete. That's more than I can say for some games. (I haven't gotten very far so this may not be the case - starting off things look ok)

The character model and background are awkward and basic but something tells me you're doing this all yourself. If you got a dedicated art designer then you'd make some pretty sweet stuff; assuming of course the errors I've pointed out are fixed.

You don't have to listen to anything I just said of course, I'm just writing down my thoughts on the game. If you're happy with it as your previous games display, then go for it. The only thing I'm really concerned with are the hitboxes and the jitters. Those are gameplay problems. The rest are aesthetics which really don't matter.

PrincessNinjato responds:

I understand and thank you for the feedback

On top of being a boring and uninteresting game, this game has the most ludicrously massive hit boxes I've ever seen in a platformer game. Seriously, there have been multiple times where I've died with an inch and a half gap of nothing between me and the enemy. And there's no real challenge to the game other then cheaply getting hit by nothing. The same song on every level, no sound effects whatsoever, it just ends, and somehow the last level of the game was the easiest.

I was going to say despite it not being a great game right off the bat, it's a good effort for what I'm sure is one of your first games. Then I look at your profile has it seems like you've been making games since 2011. How can someone make games for 4 years and put so little effort into them after all that time? I'm sorry, but this is in no way a good game. It functions, that's about the most praise I can give it.

1/5

PrincessNinjato responds:

its not the same as the other games because this was made with another software

Hitboxes are far far too big for the enemies, make the jump height more. or the hitboxes smaller.
Couldn't even get past the first enemy

Really bad spirit to steal New Super Marisa Land's soundtrack. =/

PrincessNinjato responds:

I would not really say steal but used and this was a simple HTML5 test and I agree this is not my best.
