Reviews for "Final Fantasy VBall"

Heh... Cool

Cool movie, it was pretty funny... even though it ended up having nothing to do with Volly-Ball... it was pretty cool.

Great........

This is original..... It's good, but you could have done better on the animation and sprites. And why did you choose VBall? Why not Basketball? Think about it...... Sabin does have a move called Blitz..... Its all good......

not bad

it was a bit funny but still good

Stale humor and a poorly conceived fight.

The concept was nice and original. Final Fantasy 6 characters thrust into a Volleyball ruleset. One would think there'd be a myriad of jokes that could would originate from the fact that characters used to little more than fighting would be boxed in by Volleyball rules, but wherever those jokes are, they aren't here.

The volleyball section is all of maybe 20-30 seconds. Apparently the animator found animating the ball too tedious. If that's the case, this never should have been finished and labeled as a "Final Fantasy VBall" animation. If you can't handle tedious animating, you either change the idea, or grit your teeth and finish it. What happened here was it ended in typical unoriginal fashion: with a random and poorly planned fight sequence.

The jokes themselves were just...well, cliched or lacking humor if not sense. Someone getting knocked into the sky only to return to the animation later has been done to death. Terra being groped for a whistle despite the fact a whistle hangs around one's neck and no place else, makes little to no sense. The jokes in this don't even invoke a chuckle. Maybe if they were more witty or original they might.

And the fight itself wouldn't have been so bad if the characters acted as they should have. True, Gau could conceivably have the bolt spells, but knowing Gau's personality, his tactic wouldn't be to stand there and cast them. Sabin, a martial artist, wielding a sword against Shadow is just plain stupid. Might as well have them all draw assault rifles and start shooting each other. But if I wanted to see that, I could watch a fair amount of other bad flash movies. Not only that, but the Nordic runes above characters' heads when they use spells or skills seems to be added arbitrarily, and only seem a rip off of the technique employed by the animator of the "Fighting Final fantasy" series. Unoriginality strikes yet again.

If you're a fan of Final Fantasy, particularly 6, this is dissappointing, as the characters aren't well written. They're just not presented as they should be.

If you're a fan of Volleyball, or the video game versions of it (including Super Spike VBall), this is dissappointing, as the volleyball section lasts all of 20-30 seconds at the most and includes soley one point being made.

If you're a fan of Fighting Final Fantasy, you'll be disappointed, because the only one who even fights remotely like his persona should is Shadow.

But if you're a fan of poorly planned and executed animations using sprites from video game classics, you'll love this. Really.

You're one of those nerds who sit at science fiction conventions and hassle the poor actors about every inconsistency in the series that the writers over looked, aren’t you...

Listen, you're missing the point of New Grounds, it's a freedom of self-expression. It's an outlet for people to play with their creativity on all skill levels. Yes the ball was a pain to animate so I cut it short. The jokes I thought were retarded, but at the time, that’s what a lot of the viewers responded to at the time so I put some stupidity and fun into it. And to be honest, the fight scene was actually a separate movie. I threw the two together so my movie would be more than 60 seconds long. I really just made it for fun and to become better acquainted with flash 5. New Grounds is free entertainment and it seems a lot of people forget that and expect the best of the best in quality because a few professionals submit work that blows away the average newbie flash hobbyist. You of course have as much freedom to complain as we do to create lower quality work, but you really shouldn't discourage youth’s creativity and expression, besides, you choose what you watch, your fault for watching… I guess I could post a warning “stupidity in the video, watch at your own risk”. Anyway,…

You get what you pay for, and on New Grounds you don't pay a cent, and artists don't get paid either. Don't criticize ’free’. User made and free material is what makes the internet great, the good and the bad.

Kind of corny. The jokes were pretty lame.

Nothing special, found it kind of boring.
