Reviews for "Monster Racer Rush"

Enjoyable enough to waste a few minutes.
The medals monthly, quarterly and Ultimate bug out when unlocked and keep pooping up for around a minute or two before they stop. There wasn't really a lot to keep me busy and occupied, it was essentially grinding to max out your racer to compete in the Ultimate race.
The time factor on the races was annoying. I ended up just spamming end day to unlock the quarterly. Progress and qualification would of been better. Even if you unlock the race early you stats will still need to be of a high enough skill. Although you do essentially hand out 45,000 coins to give your character a huge advantage right out of the gate.
This game is good as a starting point, add more unlockables. Maps, characters, weapons and this might give it a bit more skill and fun towards the game

I like the idea and all, but for me it was a no go.
I was getting so annoyed so often by hitting on a rock and dropping to zero speed ,
when other monsters were to hit it, and just kept going with not much of a penalty,
it's like the rock would not slow them down at all. Another thing that got me was
that you and other monsters can attack even if they are temporary dead/paralyzed.
So in overall fair game, I know there is a lot work put into it,
but for me it was more frustrating that fun.

Ultra frustrating.

There are two major things that annoy me about this game:
1.) The Marathon Race. It doesn't work, or at least that's what it seems like. I get that there's a stamina bar and that you are supposed to "rest" in order to fill it back up, but everytime I do this and try to run again, my monster just keeps crawling like there is no tomorrow. So here I am, not being able to run properly when there is only so little left to get into the goal. I press "d", see the stamina bar run low but my character doesn't move differently. Very annoying and frustrating, makes the marathon race pretty much worthless.

2.) The Ultimate Race. Now THAT'S what I call an overpowered AI. I find it so hard to beat, since:
-) The AI has perfect aim and seems to only want to attack you
-) You see the AI pass through gaps where you either can hardly wiggle through or not go through at all. How does this make sense?
-) I have all the upgrades and still am immensely slower than the others.

The music gets annoying after a while as well. Otherwise it's alright, I don't dislike it, I just find it frustrating. The graphics are nice and the concept is good too. Keep working on it. Thanks!

Nice idea, but needs a lot of work.

The reaction time while racing normal races is simply an impossible feat once you've gotten to a certain speed. You just need to run forward and hope that you won't run into anything.

The advertisement links giving you loads of money breaks the beginning of the game. I understand it's how you generate money but try to space it out or have the rewards be less.

The pacing all around is off. This is one of the most difficult parts to get right, but it should have a bit more attention paid to in the future.

The ninja is seriously overpowered. There is absolutely no challenge while playing as him.|
(Well, until you get to the later stages, but that is more because the draw distance is too low to see what is in front of you before you hit it; allowing the other racers to speed right past you)

The wizard's attacks are annoying on marathon races. He's fine on other races but on marathon in which every bit of stamina is important to keep the game from going at a crawl is a bother.

Animations are a little bland as well as the graphics as a whole but I'll give that one a pass. It is a free web game after all.

The music is repetitive and boring. That is all to say about that part.

And finally, the marathon. The stamina mechanics simply don't work. As soon as you're fast enough to overtake the enemies and put a nice buffer between you and them, it becomes a rather boring game of run, stop, wait, and repeat. The 200 dollar daily races won't cut it if you want to upgrade your character after a while, so you're forced to do a marathon a day in order to keep your daily revenue at a point at which you can upgrade your character.

The idea is great, but the execution is poor.

it was nice until I got stuck between ROCKS, so Frustrating! especially because other opponents pass easily only me get stuck..
