Reviews for "Icarus"

"Self propelling paper plane flying out of stratosphere and still manages to catch itself on fire, while clearly not carrying any kind of oxidizer on him" - bullshit aside, the game is really enjoyable.
5* for the feeling, music, and epic looking star sky.

After 10 seconds I thought this game was a complete waste of time, after 3 minutes or so I totally changed my mind. This is a proper art game and well worth the experience. It captures a certain sense of emotion and conveys it to the player (participant) in a really beautiful, sweet and captivating way. I was genuinely sad when the birds flew off!

It's probably got no replay value, but it packs a massive emotional punch for such a simple game. There are massively more complex games on NG and elsewhere which deliver nothing like this amount of engagement and connection.

I liked it and just when i started thinking "oh yeah, good but it needs a sound" , then the sound started, and completed all.
And it's not pretentious!

I don't know why, but when this mutha was the funniest shit eva when those birds joined for the ride.
You are a funny guy, man.

SPOILER
I like the way the birds fly away when you go too high, and you think "Should I go back down and catch some more birds?" and then you think "Nah, I want to see what else I can find if I keep going up" and you KNOW you're most likely going to burn but you still do it because you want to SEE it yourself. It kinda made me feel like Icarus himself. I don't know if that's what you were planning when you desinged the game. Probably yes, and you lied about the "no hidden metaphors" part. Well, it's not actually "hidden", and it isn't an actual metaphor either, but it does have a meaning, which seems to be a very unusual thing for a flashgame lately. Plus, I love Greek mythology.
In short, I was impressed. Very nice game, short and meaningful. 5 minutes well spent.
Thank you :)
