The tutorial was rather unhelpful. It should focus more on what the battle tabs will do and how they will help. I also lost the initial battle.
The game could do better with telling you what things do i.e. telling you what they do when you hover over them - particularly with the researchable stuff.
There should probably be an in-game guide and help tips when it comes to beating other villages. if you lose the first attack with 1000 troops, there's next to no way you will beat them next time as they will always be more powerful. These tips should help you gets around that, but only if you wish to access them rather than starting a new game.
The game could also use a volume slider. The music was far too loud for me personally but the only option was 'on' or 'off' so rather than simply changing the volume of the game I had to go to the volume mixer which is an alternate, but it's more effort than should be required. A volume slider is just something basic that's required.
------
The game had a nice art style and the research system was nice (though there should be more researchable stuff in my opinion).
The game gives a good feel of emphasising on a strategic build to your town, and forces you to make decisions on what the town would best be rather than throwing everything into it.
Most importantly, the game was rather enjoyable despite it being difficult where perhaps it shouldn't have been.
