Reviews for "Aurore"

The "finger snap" percussion around 1:30 kinda kills the vibe for me(even thought it feels fine at 3:10 or so, I don't know why), I think you need to work in some more complicated, softer percussion, and maybe sink the vocals into the atmosphere a bit more, keep the space defined as what you had it in the beginning but still develop it, if you know what I mean?
Either way, I'll be watching you for more, keep doing what you do, good luck.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll see what I can do.

Personally, I found it a bit hard to follow the rhythms at the beginning, although I did like the cute synths and the reverb. The pulsing pads also added a lot to the somewhat furtive vibe of the piece, while also leaving a lot of space in the mix, which was cool. I liked the somewhat quirky percussion. The vocal samples at 1:20 are also really interesting and funky-sounding. This piece is well-structured and smooth-flowing, and has a really unique and creative mood about it. The woodwind solos at around the 3-minute mark were also a valuable edition to the piece. I'm not sure I liked the kick sample you used that much. The ending also seemed a bit rushed. Most of this piece is very easy-going and slow-paced, but the ending was almost comically short. Still, this is really original content here, which I love to see. Keep up the good work, Adieuwinter. ;D

This is a really catchy tune! The sounds blend nicely, the mixing is quite good and the overall progression of the track, while relatively modest and predictable, is great. I think my favorite part of the song is from 0:49 - 1:20; the build during that part is awesome! The percussion is definitely one of the highlights of the track -- it allows for a nice flow throughout. The melody is silky smooth and I found myself tapping along to it while listening.

I wasn't overly fond of the synth vocals that you brought in at 1:21. However, don't get me wrong, they work in tandem with the other sounds. It's just a taste thing! The ending was cut a bit too short, perhaps by deconstructing the track instrument-by-instrument towards the end would work well (plus, it would fit with the laid-back vibe of the song).

Great work adieuwinter, keep it up!

Score: 7.5/10

I'm not too badly in to chillstep, but what you did with that piano in the background is amazing.
That sax part is amazing as well.
