It's impossible to memorize all those towns from all those generations.
I never even got to play past the 3rd generation.

XD you name 2 towns in gen 4 when you mentioned gen 3, but said nothing of them on the gen 4 part. for X/Y the concept, once you get past the AZ backstory and the french stuff, is actually pretty simple. Basically this is what's going on in Team Flare's head: You all suck, so we live and you die. That's pretty much it.
Haha, they do love to complicate things. Name all the Pokemon next? It's not just the towns that are getting overly complex and confusing, not just the people, not just the Pokemon, it's the entire gaminge experience! They should just take a step back and make modern versions of the classics... again. HeartGold was the pinnacle IMO. Nice work!

oh my, its crazy to realize how far this game has gone! i had yellow, crystal, and emerald. a simple yet funny animation which i can totally relate to :P show of hands! who remembers when there were ONLY 150 of them?
