Right arrow, the game! Would have worked better as a video, I think.

dylan responds:

whoawhoawhoa, let's not be hasty. There's totally some spacebar action in there too

A beautifully heart-wrenching game.
As with all of your flash, hit me with feels.

dylan responds:

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it

I just wanted to rate this, and I almost never rate games. I got a similar problem in my close family, and I've often wondered how these people feel deep inside, under the apparent layer of sadness. This helps me understand, and I'm glad I clicked on your game.

dylan responds:

I'm glad you clicked on it as well, thank you.

I think this game is too short. not only on the time of playing, but also in the development of ideas. I'll explain myself more clearly.

the strong of this game is definitely the ambiance. The simple look being torn more and more through the game is speaking for itself. the melancholic music (great choice on broove's music for that) gives an thoughtful state of mind and the minimalistic gameplay is just enough to tell a story.

The story in itself chooses a strong subject. the loss of your memory is probably one of the greatest fears in a man. however I think your game isn't transcribing that very well.
The most part of the game is a build-up to the end, but I think it wasn't enough shocking to be as dramatic as loosing the memory of a loved one. You actually had a very good idea by choosing that form of narration with flashbacks and if the game was longer, you could even have made a few more flashbacks to help the player understand and even empathise more with the main character.

But in overall, I think it is still great.
I could still fell the confusion of the character, like how he's barely perceiving it's surrounding and keeps wondering about his past.
it made me carve to know more about him and even if I didn't get much, this probably is how someone who keeps forgetting the most important things in his should feel. You also gave a glimpse of how family/close friends reacts to that disease with the woman at the end.

You got your message quite clearly but the affects are not enough pushed. I think it would have worked better if it was a little longer, like a few minutes, no more.

I'm telling you good job sir. this is a good experimental short film in ever-so-slightly interactive of a format.

dylan responds:

Agreed, I definitely feel like the ending could have been conveyed in a stronger manner. In future projects I plan on adding more time to preproduction to make sure I fully nail down story elements.

This was a lovely, artsy, little interactive movie. The story is sad and simple, yet realistic, visuals you used were great and helped to express your message, and the soundtrack is amazing. There might not be too much interactivity, but the amount in the game/movie compliments the narrative. I just wish this were a bit longer, with maybe a bit more choice. But as you responded before, you didn't have too much time to work on this, so no worries; you did use the time you had wisely.

dylan responds:

I would love to add more choice to the game, feels a bit on-rails to me as it is now. Might take me a while to get around to it, but this is definitely a topic I wouldn't mind exploring again.
