Reviews for "Qublox"

I'm a longtime fan of your work, Josh, as you may know. Good work here.

The game seems to be pretty awkward when handling blocks that take up more than one space, that is to say the 3x3 and 5x5 blocks. The game counts only the center of the block as occupying a space, so you can still place blocks within the bigger block and they'll appear either above or below it even though they're not. I'm not sure what the best way to fix it is. I think what I want to happen is for the 5x5 block to actually create 25 blocks so that you can chip away or replace pieces of it rather than just leaving or removing the whole thing.

Then of course there should be an option to erase multiple blocks at once. Like maybe you could see a transparent cube that you're moving around that represents the area to be deleted.

Tharos!! Well, yes, I agree with the 3x3 and 5x5. Annoying me sometimes as well. creating 25 blocks for 5x5 is quite a good idea! Maybe I will use it. Thanks!

I am quite surprised that this does not have a higher rating. I love games where you create your own stuff. I think the main reason I'm so interested in this is because I just saw "The Lego Movie" yesterday. DANG, THAT IS GOOD! Anyway, I love the message of being creative. While some of it is off, I still love it.

You truly give us a wide variety of options. I like all the different shapes. Even seeing them laid out like that is impressive. The music and sounds were quite good too. You really can't go wrong with a customizable game like this.

thanks Ericho!

This was an awesome idea, like a portable version of Minecraft. Building was a lot of fun, though it would be great if you could rotate the world yourself, and view it from any angle you like. When you can only see it from diagonal angles it gets easy to misalign tiles between layers. It'd also be awesome with the option to save levels as shared creations, through the NG API so they're all stored online and viewable. Apart from that this was good fun. Plenty of potential to expand with new features/grid sizes/etc. Nice work!

Noted. Thanks Cyberdevil!

I don't think I will be spending a lot of my time on this one but it's fun. The blocks are adorable and give very nice "feel" to the building process.

Few tips:
- Construct button seems useless. Remove it and leave block select instead. Or make construct button take function from block select and remove "block select button".
- highlight on red block i am about to remove while I am in remove mode
- Sometimes I build in wrong plane even if I look at white ray. White ray is awesome but maybe additional one in X-o-Y axis could solve a problem.
- It would be nice, in some cases, to give all block already built *50% transparency to make building easier
- Make keyboard shortcuts list in author comments.

josh-tamugaia responds:

Well of course, if this game is well-received, it will be something to build on, and I will make more features and also add the ones you suggested. Increase in user-friendliness, ease-of-building, better interface etc... However I don't agree that the construct button is useless. Let's say you are in remove mode, or focus mode, you need to click it to go back to construct mode, right? For those who don't want to use keyboard shortcuts that is.

But anyways I thank you very much for your tips/suggestions and review. Appreciate it much. Cheers and peace out!

Pretty cool block building game with some relaxing jazzy/atmospheric tunes playing in the background.
I could definitely see spending some time creating with this construction game, well done.
