Reviews for "Papa's Pastaria"

Fun game! really enjoy playing your games.

Small complaint is that it's a little bit slow moving. wish things would cook faster just a tad bit more. also, i feel the bread station should be the 3rd button. i don't know if it's just the way i play, but before i build the dish, i get the bread warming up so when i'm done building, it's all ready to go.
EITHER WAY!!!!!!!!!! love love LOVE these papa games, i REALLY hope to see the older ones updated to this new format (holidays, character customizations, oh and the waiter/waitress was a nice touch!!) so i can enjoy them much more than i already do.

!!just remembered another thing i don't like- it's how LOOOOOOOOONG it takes for the customer to grade me. i'm all like- HEY-a!! I GOT-a PASTA ON THA STOVE-aaaaaaa!!!!

Haha I've been playing this game for days :'D I loved the seasons, they were really a great improvement and kinda pushed me to keep playing and see what came next, and I liked having a server too, it's way more realist than having a single person! This was lots of fun, keep up the good work!

Another fun restaurant game, Flipline :)

I love that you've decided to keep the holidays and season changes. I always found that an easy way to help relieve the daily monotony, plus it gives the player an incentive to actually change their furniture setups. The holiday outfits were also a good addition to this, it was fun mixing and matching them :D. I found that the overall gameplay pacing wasn't as good as Cupcakeria, but was still very easy to adapt to with the right store upgrades.

The separate sound/music options were also appreciated, though there's one feature that always seems to be absent in these games: accessible badge/customer pages from the setup screen. For whatever reason, those pages have always only been accessible from the in-game pause screen, and it'd be nice to view my achievement progress without having to start a new day.

There WERE a few small issues that I feel could have been improved though:

1) I really didn't see much point to the golden spoon upgrade. To be honest, I would have much preferred an automatic stirrer for the cooking midpoints (though maybe that would have made things too easy). Alternatively, maybe an upgrade that drained the pasta faster would have been better.

2) Your cooking score suffers about 15-20% if you accidentally stir the pasta again before draining it. This didn't happen too often for me (usually only on a few al dente orders), but it still felt a bit ludicrous when it did. Dropping the score for under/overcooked pasta makes sense, but an extra little stir? Seriously? How would the customer even KNOW? T___T

3) A bit minor, but the size of the symbols made it a bit difficult to differentiate between pasta types in the cooking station, especially when I was first starting out. I feel like a really easy way to improve this would have been to color-code the lids of each pasta jar (red for spaghetti, blue for gnocchi, etc).

4) My biggest complaint by far though, speaking strictly as a completionist, is the obscenely long time it takes to get the Go For The Gold achievement. I realize it sort of goes without saying that that particular achievement is SUPPOSED to take the longest, but it still feels like it takes way more time than really necessary to complete.

For example, I eventually got to a point where I only had about ten silver customers left, each only requiring one or two more stars to get gold. Logically, this should have only taken about three or so days to accomplish, and yet it somehow wound up taking me three SEASONS. It seems coded to only allow maybe one or two of these customers in the store on any given day, and would sometimes even exclude them COMPLETELY, giving me occasional workdays featuring ONLY gold customers. You see what I mean? It winds up stretching the game out way longer than it should.

This is actually the first of the past couple of Papa games where I didn't make a custom character, solely because it would mean having to add another customer to that pile. The only solution I can really think of to improve this would involve tweaking the code to force more non-gold customers per day, so that you get maybe a 4:7 ratio instead of 2:7. Another possible solution might be to allow 8 customers per day instead of 7 (like in previous Papa games).

Aside from those minor complaints though, it's still a very solid and enjoyable restaurant game. As always, I look forward to more :)

So cool game ! One of the best for me !
