To the guy below me:
Finishing the game without the girl is actually....
I don't even.....
Whatever.

Cool little game.
Could be longer indeed.
Didn't experience much glitching except the hit detection feels too squary which it probably is.
Overall fun experience, keep making em.

johnfn responds:

Thanks! Yep, programmers make everything into squares to do hit detection. Perhaps if I made the cannon into a block shooter it would have felt more fair. :)

Managed to make the girl robot disappear, making it impossible to complete the game. Also super pretentious, and trying way too hard to be funny. The platforming was passable. Lack of music and sound effects doesn't benefit the game.

johnfn responds:

Sorry about that! And yeah pretentious art games aren't for everyone :p But there are music and sound effects so I'm not sure what happened there.

Good game with simple gameplay and humor. However, twice in a row I've fallen into bugs that forced me to restart on the level where go off to the left into a large open room, fall a few feet down, and go back to the right. Some kind of checkpoint system would be nice so I don't have to restart the game when I fall into a bug area.

johnfn responds:

yeah you're absolutely right! I'll definitely remember to do that for future games.

This is a cute game, however the robot's graphics really stand out from the rest of the graphics, which is odd and a little distracting. Also his movement is slidey (so if you jump onto a moving platform you may land on it perfectly but slide off the other side) which is awful in any game and should never contribute to the challenge a game presents. I like the game overall but it doesn't really stand out from anything else I've seen.

johnfn responds:

You're right, I actually did the robot first and the rest of the graphics later, and never came back to fix the robot. Thanks for pointing that out, I'm definitely still an amateur at graphics :) The sliding is quite minor - only like 10 px - but I can understand how that would be frustrating. Thanks for the review.
