pretty good game, big fan of idle games, but some things confused me with the upgrades. does upgrading it actually upgrade the stat but also add another way that the water cooler looks or what?

Upgrading furniture will get you a pong game with which you can earn money, and upgrading your water cool very slightly increases speed. Everything else is just to look pretty, though. ;)
