Reviews for "Blooming Nightshade"

scrunt ass dnb

Definitely one of the better songs in this subgenre I've heard to date. It may be breakbeat, or it may be dnb, but whatever it is, the sound and the vibe I got off of it was pretty great. Keep up the good work, man.

Noisysundae responds:

Appreciated it. And thanks for following.

I am so glad i found your Newgrounds page, it was one of the best things i ever have Done in my life! Keep up this amazing work and continue blow my mind with epic music... I need more!!!

Noisysundae responds:

You care about Noisysundae that much!? Many thanks bro. (y)

This is actually really cool.

I'm hearing some sytrus presets (I think?), and it's more breakbeat videogamey than dnb, but newgrounds has a pretty limited selection of genres.

This song is damn creative and melodically consistent. Your composition is sound, and it's very appropriate for a boss fight. I like your use of slide notes and delay.

You're missing any power whatsoever in your mids, but honestly I'm enjoying this song regardless of that. Nice work!

Noisysundae responds:

That's true, not just your thought. I just tweaked those sytrus built-in presets a bit for this.
Yes, I tried to bring more mids by using those short, fast synths. But it doesn't have any pads in this (excluding the buildups) so it could be the cause of the weakness you pointed out. Perhaps I should add some more sfx too. Perfect mastering is still a long way to go for me.
I might be too pessimistic for writing about the cons rather than the pros but it can help me do better work later so it's worth a mention. Thanks for the review bro. :)

Very nice! ;)

Noisysundae responds:

Aha! Thanks for taking your time, Desh.
As my reply of your reply on that post.

• Very nice man, thanks for introducing yourself! I faved a good half of your links, but what got to me the most was slipstream. Thats very close to home! :D

Yeah. Old school wins. XD

• Could be just me, but I also noticed that u make your music freakishly loud! Might want to look into it :)

If you mean the old ones from me, yes, those are really loud because I compared them to commercial music too much. Now it's somewhat TL;DR about loudness. I'm trying my best to make it feel 'loud' instead. Why? It's worth to take a peek at informations about the loudness war. Check it out!

For example, Slipstream's loudness is -7dB whereas this one is -12 and it sounds kinda clearer for me when I'm listening them in the same loudness level. (I used ReplayGain for that.)

• You would be a real sweatheart if you try to go alittle bit darker! Your DNB is like that of a happy psycho! I am more of a dark guy with mysterious past kind of DNB XD

I definitely want to make it darker when I want to. Unfortunately, one thing that will surely brings dark vibe to the music is non-melodic composition and I'm not familiar with it. :P
The inspiration of this sundae is a great example of what I mean.

I followed you too and definitely looking forward to your future music. :)
Oh, a few more suggestions! Don't use those samples from FL basic template for breakbeats. But for houses, it suits well. If you're lack of the external samples, search for them in Packs folder in the browser. Also, reverb samples in the Impulses folder can be used to make a good sfx too!

Was that too long? Yes, I shouldn't ask.
