Reviews for "Amy's First Platform Test"

Not bad for a first game. Has a few problems though:
I died and the re spawn didn't work.
Also the collision detection for the spinning arrow thing seems off.
The scaling is a little off. (about a ten pixel white border around the game on my browser.)
I gave it 4 stars because it was a first try. If you find yourself an art style, make a character, and get some sounds, you can turn this into a finished game. Can't wait to see what else you create.

Thank you very much for the constructive criticism! It was really helpful. Hopefully I can refine my skills and eventually create a full length game without glitches :)

its a good start i think needs sound or something though and to work out the glitch i missed the jump at the end of the level to get the lever and i went in a infinite loop of falling and also sometimes i went threw bricks when jumping but not too bad for a first try

Thank you! :)

Simple yet fun, has nice fluid movement to it

AmyJoy2213 responds:

Thank you! :) It was my first test at making a game.

I gave it three stars because for a first attempt its not bad, the mechanics are sound and the movements fluid. you managed to get a working health bar and point scoring as well as a neat little lever and door animation. As others have said though the collision detection on the arrow thing is a bit dodgy and the respawn glitches if you fall off a platform. these kind of games are good practice for people learning flash and I expect when you refine your art style and add some nice animations and audio you could have a pretty solid platformer. well done keep it up

AmyJoy2213 responds:

Thanks for the feedback! :)

It's ok for a beginner. I am curious to see what direction you go in. Would be cool if you used pixel graphics. Add a cool story line and medals and you got yourself a game.

AmyJoy2213 responds:

Thank you! This was just a test to see what I can do and what I'm able to do in Flash. I'm in the process of creating a game with a storyline/character/levels, etc. so hopefully in the not so distant future I'll create a game that has no glitches and is actually interesting to play :)
