Reviews for "Kingdom"

Just like what the others said, the AI for the people are just hard to manage with. They move around too much, and watching my farmers hopelessly farming in the middle of the night with a horde of trolls within reach only to have their stuff taken away and spending more money to get them set up. I don't know if you're going to do anything with the trolls though, usually around the 5th or 6th night, there's just too many of them to handle and I could barely even manage my archers and farmers. I have a few ideas, though:

1) Try to have an upgrading system! If the trolls are just flooding in so much, more firepower would be nice.

2) Instead of having the trolls strip away literally everything they have, they could have armor, so there's a certain limit to how many times they come in contact with the trolls. That would be so helpful in the passing days.

3) Going back to the upgrading, nothing too major, but slight upgrades for archers, such as firing speed, accuracy, power. Same goes for the farmers, like farming speed for the crops, building speed. What I really want though, is movement speed for the archers and farmers.

4) How about an extra shop? You can get a blacksmith class as well, and maybe make room near the archery tower for the blacksmith's shop. You can upgrade the blacksmith's efficiency, and the quality of the weapons. Of course, you can have the standard weapons bought through the other shops, but having powerful weapons would help.

5) It's been frustrating because sometimes I leave some tools on standby so I don't have to do it and frantically run around and purchase the tool on time in hopes they'll grab the tools. I think that having maybe an assignment option at the bottom when you select a villager would be nice. So, when you click on a villager you can have an option in your town's inventory what you could assign what job they can do.

6) Speaking of jobs, how about making it more complicated by assigning them what they could specifically do in their profession? Like, half of the farmers would build, and the other half, growing crops. Same goes for archers, some defending the town, and some out there hunting. (If they hunt, how about a certain limit to how many the archers can carry the coins?)

7) Leveling systems, I think this would be a nice thing. So, the more work they do, the more they level up, and just have a automatic upgrade, like maybe one is faster than the other, or one can grow crops faster. Kind of like a special ability only for an individual.

8) Don't get me wrong, but the bunnies are nice income for the town, but what about adding more animals that are harder to kill and maybe fight back, but with a bigger reward? It might be an issue, considering this is only on one level, and there's no certain places to go than left and right.

9) How about using the skin from the dead animals for slight protection? The meat from the animals too, if you feed the people, maybe they can get a food boost, and work more efficiently.

I have more ideas, but I'm a little tired, and I feel as if you need to read this now. :p Anyways, I wish you the best of luck with this game! I feel like this is something that could be really great if you implement some of my ideas! Good work!

Excellent game, although really frustrating
as remarked by others, it would be great if the villagers used the walls at least
loking a peasant rushing to mow a field (with no walls!) at night at the same time as trolls are around... And the hunters, wandering in the middle of the camp at night, when they should split at each extrem wall... Too frustrating!

No man! The idea and the concept behind the game is not bad, but you ruined it with many issues. Try to improve the following points:
1 - The king should be able to defend himself. Why cannot he attack the trolls???
2 - Why are villagers so dumb that thy not hide behind the walls?
3 - Why on earth is it not possible to repair damaged walls?
4 - The walls should be able to host archers when upgraded.

Try with this changes and you could consider your game a good one.
Peace!

Game is good, but the AI is a real fun killer. You spend shitton of money for walls, villagers and you loose both of them, because:
1. They don't hide behind them, but walk freely in front of them
2. You can't repair walls, so when you loose them, you loose all the money you put into them.
Beeing able to at least tell villagers where they should stay and being able to repair walls would make the game more fun to play without making it easier.

I really liked this game. The graphics and sounds are simple but very beautiful, and the atmosphere was very nice. However, as many people have commented, the game becomes very difficult after a few levels. Here some ideas:

1 - Instead of attacking the king could jump. Able to evade the enemy, even if only for a short time, would be of great help.

2 - Villagers and warriors must protect themselves behind the walls after dark. It's frustrating to spend so much resources on raising walls if no one uses them.

3 - On the walls: allow broken walls to be repaired and put the stock sickles and arches shielded by them.

I believe that with these three changes, the game would be much more balanced. Even with small problems, the game was very good, and I keep playing. I hope you make a sequel!
