Reviews for "Back in Time"

I just have to say that I did not care for this. I could not really understand the objective. The dialogue just seemed so wooden. I imagine you just need to work on it more to really get into it. I just did not find this engaging at all. The graphics weren't that good.

It seemed like something that was from a couple of years ago. I guess there's nothing offensive or anything about it. I'm sorry, it just has really nothing unique. At least it's easy to understand. I'm not motivated to go further.

Really simple point and click. Not very challenging, 3casul5me!

Fire James Kaylor.

Nice music, heard it in another game. Kinda lazy.

The music is a royalty free/free with credit given track, it could be used in many games with no cost: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1100357

This game has some positive qualities to it - it has voice acting (done very badly - I suspect purposely and it can be funny at times, but it maybe would have been better to try to do it well), movement of mouth while talking (which continues after the character has finished talking until you click again), and the rewind time animation for the endings that kill you is nicely done (no attached negatives for that bit).

However, it's also very short - a first playthrough shouldn't take longer than 10 minutes even though there is 1 hard to find object. Without that, it would take less than 5. Also to move around to different areas you use a map from the beginning - fast travel in games can be useful, but this isn't big enough for it to be needed and not having the option to walk from scene to scene makes the experience artificial - which is a real problem given the animation constraints, voice acting, and the story. As for the story; you're sent back in time when you step into your time machine and a spider lands on the switch, and things barely get more realistic after that.

Keeping things relative to other point and click adventure games on newsgrounds I can't rate this any higher than I have, but don't take it to mean that it's completely bad and unplayable. I had to take off 1 star because of the length, and I consider 3 stars or more to be playable, making this ok to play with the faults it has.
