Reviews for "Zombie World"

Really good game, a little slow paced but overall very entertaining. Also the zombies sounds are a little funny haha

I like that the game is different, the playing style differs from normal tower defense. The concept is interesting enough to keep the game going through 12 levels. Some levels work better than others though. "Heavy traffic" was interesting, good gun placements, but a lot of enemies that went after towers, and not one ultimate chokepoint. In several others, the tactic didn't differ too much: have turrets near one point, block the point with squads. Rangers work best for this, as you get the same amount of riot police for less money than with the other guys. Killing the zombies is a task for the towers. I prefer the shotgun tower, as the cannons have trouble hitting anything that moves.

One complaint is that ones you figure this out, the game is pretty easy. The only level I couldn't finish on hard right away is "Gas station", where you can't use the troopers to block the path. The upgrade system works pretty well, but the top upgrades are really expensive compared to how fast you acquire points and how long the game is.

Overall, I like this as a mildly flawed but innovative addition to the genre.

Fun game, but there is a lot of room for improvement.
- I found the missile turrets and troops point less, the AOE was too small and they did very little damage.
- A bestiary would be great, you don't know what the enemies are, and what there strengths and weaknesses are.
- The upgrade system is flawed to me, you get 5 points every time you beat a level regardless of difficulty, so playing on hard has no rewards, besides a challenge.
- A way to reset points spent on upgrades

The game was extremely easy even on hard, i only used shotgun turrets, a few rangers and snipers to back them up, i hardly ever lost a survivor, if i did it was because of a double lane map.

As a turret defence game it's pretty solid, but there were a couple of things that irked me. The target choice of the turrets often left me despairing. I lost count of the number of times I shouted at the screen when a turret ignored an almost destroyed zombie that was about to slip past my lines in favour of some less important target. And the zombies with machine pistols seemed to outrange my gunner squads, and enjoyed holding back to snipe.
Overall the theme didn't really match the optimum strategies. Spamming infantry isn't the way its done in fiction!

This was a nice game, but there should have been some more test play, because there are a few obvious flaws.
1. the snipers are overpowered, making the turrets unneccesary, and you never use the level, instead always go for a bottleneck.
2. i started using the numbers on my keyboard instead of the icon on the screen and accidentally figured out that you don't have to wait for the icon to refresh if you use the keyboard. then i found out that levels that hold back certain icons(like the one without the footsoldiers) still allow you to use those units even without the icons.
3. maybe it's due to my playstyle, but if you ask me the waves are too long. especially the last wave of every level is just a waiting game.
