Reviews for "Canvasser"

Games that are based on pure luck are no fun.

I thought of this game as fun and inspiring, as well as a good reflex tester. The timer is a bit unforgiving though. But still, good job!

Fun, wish there was more content and upgrades, expand on milestones. Good for what it was.

I don't like this kind of people who try to sell you something or, even worse, they just wanna scum you getting money and giving u nothing back. With this game you try to make them look like heroes, but thy're not, so u deserve only 0 stars.

I really want to give this game high marks, there's a lot there and it's a pretty awesome idea for a game but the execution definitely needs some work, as how it is, it basically boils down to pure luck. You can't tell who has money to give and who doesn't unless you get lucky enough to find one of those power ups that shows you, and even then, sometimes people who have a lot to give simply won't talk to you cause they're busy. And if you're unlucky enough to get someone with really low money, that bad luck can completely nullify any talking you've done, meaning they walk off without giving anything and you've wasted your time.

There's no real way to see how well you're doing compared to other canvassers and therefore have no way of knowing whether it's worth going for more people talked to, or a higher amount of money to make it to either top earner, or most people talked to, so again, you're going off of pure luck.

A few things would make this better, some sort of upgrade system (the confidence bar made almost no noticable difference unless you completely filled it, and the base confidence increases were paltry), different types of people with different "stats" (maybe hippies don't have much but are easily convinced to donate, corporate types with lots of money but hard to convince to hand it over), new tactics you can unlock to use on people instead of just The Rap, maybe new topics to unlock, something to make it less repetitive and more strategic. And perhaps a way to see how other SOW canvassers are doing so you can plan your actions accordingly.

I do think it was pretty good, and as others have said it may very well be very accurate to real canvassing, but if I wanted that kind of frustration, I could just go be a real canvasser.
