Reviews for "Heat"

I like the music, the pixel art seems to be from various people.. and the clouds, pillowshading :'(!!
This could be easily created in GameMaker within 1 hour, not sure how that works in flash.
So if you did the programming, good job!

It has potential, but some of the levels were nearly impassable due to errors in the enemies moving. Sometimes those walking enemies just stop moving and end up blocking the path so I can't get to the end. And I can't jump on them cause they stopped at an area with a low ceiling. But, if you tweak things a little here and there to make the game smoother and not impossible, it would be much better.

As people have said before the hitboxes are pretty bad. And I don't feel like going though an entire level again because of something I didn't touch.

For a beginner's game, this is obviously a nice effort. The big problem lies with collision detection, which really does not fit the characters and is problematic.

I like how the extremely simplistic and cliched premise end up warped in a dark way... and then warped even further away from the expected usual dark twist into a darker one still, with the rather selfish 'kill self to be with loved one' ending being twisted into something that fits the story as a whole.

From what I guess, Heat was probably recognized and used as a schmuck by some lovecraftian horror, which would explain the black box, the ending imagery... and in a way, would actually explain the title font.

I encourage you to look at platformer engines and to work to improve your coding. Also, try and work to improve your art skills. Pratice make perfect.

The problematic part most people complain about is probably due to how, at the far left middle platform in the cloud level, the ceiling is too low for the player's collision box. This makes the jump to the top part of the stage a lot harder than it should be. This is a shame as it's the only really frustrating part of the game (every other part can be cleared via pratice and being a bit ingenious).

Pretty good, but the collision detection is a bit off. You die before you really touch the enemies.
