This game just about embodies the stuff I usually find in a bad platformer:
Bad Controls: Okay, being a game creator myself, I understand that programming controls can be sketchy. But let me tell you; There is nothing in a game more annoying than clearing out an entire room of those square things, then dying because I told him to walk one foot, and he walked off the edge 10 ft. ahead.
Lack of a Story: What, no backstory? No reason why He is destroying these creatures? Come on, have a little imagination. This is after all, your game. Be proud of it.
Bad Bosses: This I really don't get, you could have gone with a simple "Mario, run past the boss to the button" or a "Sonic, hit it a certain amount", but no. Here is what happened: It took me about two deaths to realize the numbers coming out of the first boss was its health lost, and then spent a good 5 minutes draining it before I died again. Frustrated, I ran up and hit it TWICE, and it died, leaving me with a WTF face.
Look, I know a game can be difficult to make. But a simple platform game is, well, simple.
