A step too far, and then 100 miles further. This is the only game I've found offensive, ever. The subject matter I can handle, and I've played games far more violent and graphic, but I've never seen such a thing handled in such a crass manner. Play if you find school massacres funny.
Under normal circumstances a game would have to be seriously broken to get 1 star or less, but the problem here is the total disregard for the subject matter it is dealing with. It's a pity, because when you see the massacre kick off (and the short lead-up to it), from there it could have been the start of a good game. However, then you see bodies around you in silly poses with heads ripped off, and a telekinetic goth. It was around then that I lost the last bit of respect I had for this game.
No subject matter should be considered out of bounds, but the execution here couldn't be much more inappropriate. I can imagine a few ways, but even if the game had you controlling the person doing the massacring, it would depend on how this is approached. It could be done in a mature way, or with a similar slasher comedy approach to this game. One has the potential to be a dark disturbing psychological journey, and the other something best forgotten, or never encountered. Technically speaking this game is passable, but I wish the effort could have been spent to make a different game.
That's my opinion, I'm not saying it to offend, but I'm not sugar-coating it either. People can create games like this, and if it appeals to some then that would make it worthwhile, but I can't help but say I lose respect for someone who plays this game and likes it.
