Reviews for "Elf Story"

While a very pretty game with okay writing, what can not be forgiven is the mechanical nature of the game. The gameplay is pixel hunting, with no real discernible way besides trial and error to work out what to do and if you're doing it wrong.

For instance, while at one part you're meant to click your sword to block, something never mentioned or hinted up to this point, another you're meant to click the arrows to slash them and not block them or another method to deal with it. I was stuck at the archer at the tree for five minutes, as I kept mashing the left mouse button trying to find out what I'm meant to click. Considering the very next scene is "suddenly giant", which then glitched out as I managed to mash the left mouse button until I found out I'm meant to stab it in the eye which rendered my character and the giant unable to do anything. I pixel hunted for another 5 minutes and then decided that if this was not a glitch then it's Limbo Of The Lost level of pixel hunting.

Good luck with future games, I just really think future games need to be more user-friendly.

The artwork and little messages you get for picking up items are great. The only thing really pissing me off is the fact that for the Quick-action moments, you have to frantically move your mouse around the screen in the 1-2 second time frame that you have to find what it is you're supposed to actually click on. Also the fact that your guy takes so long to walk around and do everything, the first part where you throw the rock and start to walk away and get attacked? Had to do it 3-4 times because the game had no indication of what it was I was supposed to do next. Other than that, so far it's not a bad game. I did notice though that when you get to the crossroads at the shop, if you go to the shop and come back out, the sign is missing.

It has Style, its a good Point and click adventure in the parody of Legend of Zelda.

as far i could hear is that it uses also of sound from other games.

The Graphics are good and the Battles are very good animated.

the only things i didnt liked was the repeating music over and over, it was just to short and the speed of the animations.

all in one, its a great game.

Seems like a good game, except, I crash on the first level. The orb appears and tells me that I haven't explored at all, but I said "Nah, let's go to the next level" and it just stops there with the black boxes on the screen. What a shame. :/

Good game, requires some fine tuning.

Music is okay, but repetitive, gameplay is good, animation is awesome, still some glitches.
I suggest for improvement, you allow for a 'skip scene' and 'replay scene' option. No one wants to do the boring non-skippable intro again.
Change the music after a couple of scenes.
Also, fix it when you face the ogre. If you click his face multiple times, you can glitch yourself to hit the correct timing. Also, the ogre doesn't die, apparently hitting him in the face 20 times isn't enough.

Other than that, great game. got yourself great animation skills there.
