Reviews for "Toons These Days: Ep 17"

Nice series, guys. Thank you, so much, for sharing it with the rest of us. =)

So... is this the end of toons these days COMPLETLEY? If not... I have a show that would be good for Doggy to rant about... if so... then I am REALLY going to miss these.

I'll be honest that I'll miss this. Some of the episodes were pretty funny. Some were slightly lame but a lot of them I have to say were hilarious.

Very well put.
The "plot" is crappy, the characters are stupid, it promotes homosexuality in children, it's annoying as hell and super cheesy.

Fair criticism of a good, but overrated show I'd say.

In Spongebob's defense, he's technically a sea sponge who's modeled to LOOK like a kitchen sponge (...not that that makes him in and of himself any more interesting or funny... necessarily). However, I would make the argument that anything can be funny with the right comedy behind it (the KKK baghead scene in Django Unchained comes to mind), and I think Spongebob's comedy was pretty good.

...at least at first.
The comments about Nickelodeon squeezing every penny out of Spongebob are totally justified and probably true. Gumball, on the other hand... ehh, I don't think it's a terrible show, but I also don't think there's anything particularly good or memorable about it.

All in all, good cartoon and fair commentary, I'd say.
