Reviews for "Layer Maze 3"

Though I saw this same puzzle in The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain, which came out in the 90s, your addition of keys, stars, and a timer helped to add some depth and allow the puzzle to stand on its own. Also, since it is rather difficult to find a machine that can run software from the mid 90s, I am very happy to see this puzzle appear in a more accessible form.
In Dr. Brain, the character followed the mouse, which took away some of the skill requirement involved in navigating corners. Your choice of arrow keys worked well, but I preferred being able to use the mouse, so I could concentrate on the maze more easily.

Thanks for your work!

Sadly I can't say that I've played the other 2 games you've made in this series, but I can say that I enjoyed the 30 or so minutes I spent playing this. When you said 'most challenging' I drastically underestimated what you meant, and soon learned the wrath of this game. The levels were as hard as you said they were going to be, but I believe you went a little too fast with how difficult the game gets. I felt as though I was mentally being hit with a brick during the mid levels, though I was starting to relax my mind and let it flow with the insanity the drives people to complete this game.

Between mapping out the levels in my head and slowly feeling my brain melting I did take the time to notice the polish you put into this game, like how I saw the ball roll and the dots follow in place as if it were a real ball in the direction I told it to move, which included moving up and down, turning toward me while going up and away from me while rolling down. Comboed with good music and easy to learn controls and mechanics, this game is nothing short from 4 stars.

The shade of red isn't really too easy on the eyes, and I the representation of which layer you're on could be maybe color coded (like in time fcuk) to be simpler. controls of a & z are easy enough to get used to after a few levels.

ive gone deeper and deeper, my mind...is mush oh god the excitement, i feel like im in "inception"

The basic idea is very good!

The only thing I miss, is to be able to see the full level once in advance before starting the level - This way you would have to remember as much as possible - you could also add "fog of war" this way ^^
