Reviews for "Why Am I Dead"

Really cool, actually. I like the game's feel, but i admit i went through it simply by taking over everyone once and talking to each other character, switching back only when somebody said "i want to talk to you/him" etc. Of course the solution was different then expected. Great game.

The characters are varied and rich. Each of them have their own levels or curiousity and motivations.

And the music creates a suspenseful, haunting mood. Like something is about to jump on me, so it keeps me on my toes and just little bit scared.

The only thing I have against it is basically the same thing as other reviewers are saying. The premise was to investigate your death as the ghost, but the ghost itself contributes nothing, like it doesn't have a sense of self. It would make more sense if it said that the ghost was following other people instead of "possessing" them. At the end, there was no response at all from the murdered spirit.

is it bad that i saw that comming? i wont reveal anything because its a nice twist i guess but the "killer" went about this all wrong in "the end" it was bluntly obvoius what was comming next because with such few cast and very likely characters there was really only a few people snooping, and for what? thats the obvoius part No one in there right mind thinks .... ima play detective in a shitty hotel during a storm with no cops unless one had other reasons to be doing so. or he just really likes to be foolish and pretend he is on csi who knows just saying

cool game. little girl was the best ( trough I wanted her to be mad murderer (I'm screwed up by games like that)). I wonder why i couldn't get trough doors as spirit and what that paper in lobby is for.

Wow... I'd never played a game quite like that before. I'm using my surroundings, but instead of clicking the environment and picking up objects, it's more like I'm picking up people. Even better, instead of duct-taping a fork to a screwdriver to create a lockpick or whatnot, I have to combine conversations to create new conversations. That's way cooler and more clever than countless room-exploration games I've played.

The heartbeat music was very understated. I dunno if that's noir, but it was enigmatic. I suppose an empty tone fits a mystery, especially seeing as the ending hit me out of nowhere.

I have no idea what the secret medals are, and there isn't much replay value seeing as I spammed every dialogue line I could find, but I'd say a mystery like this will deserve a closer look later. The first play was plenty to say: very cool game!
