Reviews for "Gemini"

The game is annoing, but the idea of create was good, and I agree with #Nocturnalrose that the game must be worked out much more @Kwing. Maybe in another one you also killed this monster who cames alive after falling from the top of the ceiling, by slaming metal door and he pudgy in them :)
This will be like a Comedy Horror point&Click game.
Btw, why you called the game "Gemini"? Not better 'Sleeper' or "Asleep'? Think of that

Kwing responds:

Yeah, I remember as I created the game I considered having other shit going on, but I thought it would be annoying if the player was scared into a shadow, causing an unfair game over. Since most crappy indie horror games now just have players running through a gauntlet of jump scares, making something different (the player only gets jumped when they screw up) is a little more difficult.

The idea is that the character is living a dual or twin life in his waking and sleeping states. Also, because of the realism of the dreams, he is unable to distinguish one life from another. Gemini represents the 'twin' life he leads.

Nice job but the jump scares are only scary once and the game is too easy.

Kwing responds:

I completely agree, the game was originally going to be twice as long and I shortened it because I understood the game was too easy and not very scary.

The scream is from Frankie Teardrop right? That startled me the first time.

Kwing responds:

Hey, you recognized it. Nice going.

Okay i'm not here to bash your creative genius or anything so please take this in the kindest way possible. Jump scare's are fun when your playing a game and you really get into it and your pulled in it can down right terrify you. The story really pulled me in and I found myself wanting more but after awhile the damn faces just pissed me off and I wasn't scared, you mentioned something about a cat jumping out of a locker in your comments and something like that would have really made this game! I would love to see more of your work in the future but maybe instead of constant faces you could have us walk into a room or anywhere searching for notes and then a body falls from the ceiling and then chases us and maybe as we close the door on their face we find a note in its mouth or something? basically sticking to the original jump scare concept but in a way where we don't expect it or so it doesn't nearly kill the game even if i know things are going to jump out and scare me if I don't know where their coming from it can still scare me anyway I think you did a very good job at the story and the concept was good i look forward to seeing more of your stuff.

Great review!! This site needs more people like you!

I think the idea of non-fatal jumpscares is a really brilliant way to increase the tension and suspense. Since the limited sight-line is sort of the main mechanic of this game, I'm not positive how I could have included jumpscares without somehow illuminating the entire environment for the player, but you're definitely right that more kinds of scares would keep the game unpredictable and unique. I shall DEFINITELY keep this in mind for any future horror projects.

I gave up after a minute or so. Just got annoying after all that screaming. Seems the game is shallow and only designed to scare you with lame youtube frights. So I'm not inspired to keep playing. It's a game for children.

Kwing responds:

I imagine that happened because you just kept moving the mouse too fast and ramming straight into shadows.
