Reviews for "Thundernut"

This is a fun jumping and dropping game. The platforms were a little buggy, but nothing too bad. Things became interesting once the arrows showed up. This is a great game that you created in 24 hours. The medals work, and I earned them all. Will there be a sequel?

VictorGrunn responds:

Actually, yeah. Maybe not a sequel so much as "a proper game". Can you shoot me a mail and explain what was buggy about the platforms? People keep saying this and I can't figure out what they mean.

Glad you liked it! Thanks for playing, it was fun if demanding to make in 24h.

Great game. I am also getting a slight bugginess when trying to jump and slight weird kind of lag, even though I am on a decent computer. Also, in the sequel if you could move the boxes that show the profile of who is talking, it would make the game easier and more fluid.

VictorGrunn responds:

Yeah, the chatbox placement is horrible in this. And to think that was twice as big recently. It's driving me nuts hearing about "bugginess when jumping", since this sounds like the platform complaint and I can't for the life of me figure out what people mean.

Either way, thanks for playing, glad you had fun with it!

I guess a concept can truly make the game.

I like it. Mediocre gameplay but really interesting and funny story. I got over 10,000 points, but now I keep dying at the "hang in there Thundernut" line. I keep getting pierced by arrows, and I'm not sure if it's even possible to avoid enough of them. They appear to be randomly generated, as far as I can tell, so maybe it's only possible on a certain percentage of playthroughs. I'm not going to keep trying because it takes several minutes to get to that point.

For the people who are experiencing lag, try using a different browser. It lagged for me in Google Chrome but worked fine in Internet Explorer.

VictorGrunn responds:

Thanks man. And yeah, for some reason I'm finding Chrome and Flixel don't get along very well. Not sure why.

Wow, and I thought the game I played before this was weird. I still liked this game, mostly because of how easy it was to get some medals. I truly had no idea what was going on. I'm assuming I could win some way, but I think I died. I could have sworn that I saw the medals somewhere else (at least their designs). If you're a prolific reviewer, you should probably check this out.

It's certainly original enough to like. I thought maybe this was a sendup of the Kid Icarus games. The ones where he becomes an eggplant or something? I think it was mostly a game about falling from the Heavens somewhere. At least I got something out of it.

VictorGrunn responds:

Hey, thanks. Yeah, there's really not much to it - if you can rack up over 10k, you've done "the best you can really do" at this point. But it was fun to make and I learned a few things, especially since it was a 24h project for me and my artist.
