Reviews for "Spell Sword Beta"

This shows a lot of promise, but you have to work really hard and polish it till it shines.
I was really frustrated with the number of glitches in it.
At first the Mobs were really easy and I thought this was a crappy game until I came across the white ones. They wiped the floor with me !

Here is what I thought:
The screen size was bothersome. I could not see the health and the bottom of the screen at the same time.
There could have been a tutorial at the beginning instead of getting into the game right away.
A story would have been nice.
The Knight's attack range is lesser than it seems while the Mob's attack range is greater.
There should have been a medium difficulty enemy between the red Mob and the white one because the difficulty increases drastically, I ended up dying tons of times because of them.
The weapons and armor should also increase gradually because before I got the second piece of armor I used to tons of times and after, it's almost like I'm invincible.

I played 5 times and every time right after the third tiny brown ball enemy ,the game froze and my flash plug-in crashed.
This game has over 400 medal points. Too bad I couldn't earn them because of this crash problem.

Overall, it's decent. Work out the kinks and it'll be daily prize material.
Good Luck!

Is a good idea needs a kill screen cause once health reaches 0 you can no longer do anything but run around. the attack seems to slow maybe a fast weak attack and a strong slower attack.

it is some good and some bad like first quality changer is a good thing to put swords are to slow to use and add a class of some sort good: u have the idea for a good online game if u had more things to do like quests or some thing it will be a good game

its pretty good fo beta but 1 lvl breaks and u fall down into the grass at the beggining and your hp starts goind up and down.

Kind of a Mario Bros, NES style side scroller RPG.

It's got a fun factor though it's simple. The retro graphics could be cool or a turn off depending on your audience.

I understand it's a beta. Here are my suggestions.

IMPROVE:
- the game controls took a while to figure out. I know you have it listed on your NG author comments section but I would HIGHLY suggest a pop up bubble or a small HUD at the bottom of the screen that always tells your players that arrows move "C" - attacks etc.
- having to equip the sword in the beginning is unnecessary. Just start your game with the sword equipped or have a tutorial explain that right up front. It took me like 2 levels to figure that out. Better yet, have the sword in a treasure box and as soon as you get it, have a tutorial tell you to equip it.
- The jump height seems too low to me. You also need to explain to users that in order to get to higher areas, they need to do a running jump.
- I echo what others have said regarding lots of "bugs" in the game. The first level doesn't allow the slimes to hurt you. And it appeared that a few other things weren't working properly as well. I only played the first couple of levels.
- I think your menu design could use some work too. It was extremely basic once inside the inventory. There didn't appear to be any way to "exit" and the game froze. Again, bad tutorials are to blame as are "bugs" in your game.
- There isn't any story line. You just have a random hero in a side scroller world. You need to engage your audience more or they will get bored quickly.

Best of luck.
