Reviews for ""The Worst""

Unexpected, gore, great, I loved it. Two thumbs up

Now this is something new. Animation wholly in it's own category (hmmm... 'cate-gory'. Nah that wasn't funny), well stylised, and personally, felt more than just a pointless gore fest. Hooked to the video as soon as I saw the amount of detail that went into those grotesque audience members. You obviously worked incredibly hard on this, but being really nit-picky, I can see moments in the animation where the meticulous amount of detail hasn't quite been spread so evenly. Aside from that little flaw, this is very fresh and evocative (in more than just a shock sense, although to be honest, I'm quite desensitised - but I guess this would be quite shocking to some). Of course, there are going to be people who are in it just for the gore, but a deeper commentary on society is quite apparent here. Music was interesting as well, I'm into experimental/avant-garde metal music, although I'm not going to go all the way and say it was excellent. But all together, this is a brilliant video and a demonstration of what internet animators can really do.

yea clearly. what rock are these people crawling out from.

While this is one of the most shocking entries I've seen on NewGrounds lately, it's also one of the most schockingly creative.

Sherbalex responds:

yea i know i got tired of seeing pupil-less angry eyes and smiley-mouth with dimples all the fucking time and all the other bullshit

I felt sorry for the tortured and nothing for the audience. This was not really enjoyable nor was it funny. The animation was interesting I'll give you that. The music was a tad out of place.Oh the irony where I would like the torturer to become the tortured. I have seen many incredibly gory things happen in movies. Much worse than any of this. You are getting there. You have a long way to go before you get to making me squirm. If the point of this was to make an ironic statement it worked. If not, you need to refocus your efforts. You could do so much more and be just as terrifying or poignant. This wasn't great. You can do more. Take your mind out of shock jock mode and you will do something truly shocking.

Anyone could sit here and say that the audience here was eating up gore as badly as they see it on the news. Gore on this level is usually used in two forms. One, to communicate an important message by the writer or two, to create a strong sickly reaction to the images (think Cannibal Corpse). There is of course the third reason which is that blood can fascinate people if it is fictitious. Although the creatures were surely sapient it does not seem as if they were any longer human. In my opinion this seemed like a strong move on your part, to convey the destruction of vaguely human meat as opposed to scared hostages or some other non-sequitor situation.

Also, thank you for no cookie monster vocals. Would've killed the whole video.

The execution of the flow of the video is mostly excellent. The highly detailed scenes deserve great praise but half of the star was taken off due to the action scenes having less detailed animation.

i love cannibal corpse
