Reviews for "Simgirls (Full Version)"

It ain't pervy.

This is a Newgrounds Classic!

Originally based off his favorite anime romance series, this guy has made it into it's own story using only some of the characters from the show.

There are sim dates where it's just plain meant for jacking off, and then there are the ones that are ideally 'fun' to play! It's what is typically considered 'quality' in a traditional Japanese Sim Date as it focused more on a role-playing driven story that was engaging and heart-felt.

You will start to care for these characters and play the game for the 'game' rather than the 'saucy' ending.

But it is Sex, so no kiddies allowed!

sim-man responds:

It is a rpg + simulation game with lots of sex lol.

Great game, glad to see it finally got finished. I can remember playing it back in 2002, long before games with heavy date-sim elements like Mass Effect 3 ever hit the mainstream. The game is tight, not buggy or glitchy in the least, and the keyboard shortcuts are a nice bonus for those who might get fed up clicking constantly. Could use some proofreading in some areas, and I would like to see a keyboard shortcut for going on to the next dialog screen, or even a skip button for repeat playthroughs.

The game's only real shortcoming is in the model managing minigame; the skills of the girls are ridiculously unbalanced. I've have Tomoko completely maxed out for days while Ami struggles to stay above 3000, which seriously makes her high defense and special defense power completely useless. If she can't get fans quickly, why in God's name would I waste turns defending? And her being the best at Rumors suffers from the same problem. Sure, she can drain fans from the opponent faster than they can recover them, but in the meantime she's losing all the fans that she has to their Seduction.

I feel like all it needs to be balanced is to add in some way for girls to assist their teammates in acquiring fans, whether by making the 20% fan bonus wish affect the whole team, or perhaps just simply allowing trades. That way, you could grab fans with Tomoko, then shunt them over to Ami to defend them. This would also avoid the problem where, since all Tomoko is good at is fan gain, she's not wasting turns being at the cap and still having to Seduce to make a real dent in the opponent (since, with max stats, Seduce steals 150 more fans than Rumor erases).

sim-man responds:

Hmm... fans trade, that's an interesting idea.

This game is one of my all-time favourite sim-date games ! Keep the good stuff coming plz !

sim-man responds:

Yes I will work on my next soon.

Ah the nostalgia. I'm pretty sure Simgirls was the first game I played on NG. I don't have any thing to complain about really. I liked the endings even if I thought some of them were sappy but to each their own.

sim-man responds:

No complaint is a good sign.

Absolutely beautiful. Loved this game before it was finished, and now it's PERFECT. Minus the intense difficulty to get all the possible scenes in one run, but PERFECT. By the by, I don't know if you want to fix it, but when Karin hangs out in the slums, you can always click back on there and keep getting infinite energy refills so you don't have to start the day over. You might want to put a limit on that. And it's nearly impossible to win against Akira in the model battles, because I battled her twice and she got max fans. Of course I only used Tomoko, but still.

sim-man responds:

That's actually a cheat.

Well Akira is tough so only challenge her when you have your girls at max fans + stats and you are using all possible combos and special abilities.
