sketchy animation, good art, good voice acting, slightly monotone voice acting, good overall scenic effect, so 2.5 stars
As for the "example of taoism" portrayed in this animation, first of all, people can only try with any probability of success to be different human entities. A rock cutter can become wealthy, but a rock cutter cannot become a rock, wind, or the sun. Second, this example profits out of beating up a naive idea of what people want. Many people don't want to just be "greater" than they were before. They want to live well and have all their needs satiated. A rock cutter wants to be wealthy so that he doesn't have to work hard, not because he wants to be more powerful. Third, all of these ideas of "power" are based on the opinions of other humans within the example. Wealthy people do not care about the people who hate them. Magistrates do not care about the people who hate them. It is a naive interpretation of the world that makes you depend on the opinions of others.
