How nice to see a classic chess game in NewGrounds!
The graphics are decent, as is the gameplay. The ability to mute the sound is definitely a plus.
The programming required for a chess game alone got you three stars. I would like to see some features added, if possible, such as: captured pieces and moves list. Still, the game works, and I really respect that. So the effort is worth an extra 0.5 stars.
The opening book seems not to be there at all, which might be nice for beginner players. More demanding players may want to pay for a more complete software, but having a flash based, free chess game is definitely welcome.
The Veredict: NewGrounds players would certainly benefit from this chess game. It should stay, as it is a decent submission, that many players will appreciate.
Good chess engine game. I wish it had castling on the queen's side and En Passe. A couple times I have caught the computer where I could have decimated it with en passe.
Oyeah the computer did something really weird, that i have never seen a chess engine do. It was beating my ass one time, then it stalemated me. And then "PAT" showed up on the screen. what is PAT mean?
