Why, this is the happiest murder I've ever seen. Even the dead body was dancing with joy. XD
Seriously though, this is the 3rd adaptation of Cupcakes I've seen here on Newgrounds. I understand that it's the quintessential screwed up MLP fic, but can't we throw in an adaptation of Parchments or something into the mix? XD
Anyway, the animation, aside from it's evil inspiration, was pretty good over all. Sometimes the characters moved like they were paper cutout puppets, but most of the time it was good. I also read the Mystery Pinkie-Pie Theater 3000 (look it up, it's funny) riff on Cupcakes, so I know the story, and for someone who hasn't read it, you did a pretty good job of capturing it in all of it's horrific, blood caked glory. But I'm taking points off for not showing Applebloom wearing Diamond Tiara as a cooking apron and cutting up Silver Spoon at the end.
Good job, or at least as good a job as can be done with an adaptation of Cupcakes, but maybe for your next animation you could do something that doesn't make people cry out in teary eyed horror. XD

I kind of want to dislike this for the subject matter...but I still seem to enjoy it. The music could not have been better synched, or better chosen; and the animation was generally of a very good quality. There were some moments that were positively artful. Rainbow Dash being alarmed as we see her wings carefully spread out behind the slab, and Pinkie Pie gingerly biting down on the chainsaw before she sets it up were particularly memorable. I also really liked the transition to the torture room, and the stuffed heads of disappeared characters hanging on the wall was a very nice touch (even if Angel Bunny didn't really fit with the others.)
Unfortunately, this wasn't without it's flaws. The marionette dancing in the intermediate sequences looked jerky and kind of ugly (even if I did like seeing wingless Rainbow Dash dancing.) I can see how it may have been intentional, but that doesn't actually make it better. Not to mention the text being generally annoying. The fake credits added NOTHING WHATSOEVER and just kind of annoyed me and presumably any of the listed names (besides you) who may have seen it. Also, for the first time the text in the Author Comments box has reduced my enjoyment of the video. Your F.A.Q. comes off as unbelievably inane and pretentious. Them grabbing things happens all the time in the show so you don't need to draw attention to it.
But my biggest gripe is this: THE EYES. I can understand altering the art style at least some, but the eyes are a key part of Friendship is Magic's style. Pony eyes do not bug out, do not have particularly wrinkle-able lids, and ABSOLUTELY do not go bloodshot. I could let it slide but a ridiculous number of the shots have bloodshot eyes! It looks 'messed up' in all the WRONG ways. Besides, any way I imagine it, conveying the same level of pain and madness via bright and glassy eyes would have added another BEAUTIFUL layer of subversion and general disturbance.
All in all, a pretty impressive piece, but a number of stylistic choices and the fact that I see a little bit too much 'you' in the piece prevent me from enjoying it as much as I could.
