Reviews for "Ragdoll Rumble"

great game

Not perfect, but excellent

Definitely not 'speechless', but a fun timekiller.

This game is very interesting. Ragdoll physics + fighting = hilarity ensues.

Some parts of the game could have been better put together; the instructions tend to be misleading. When it says "hit the head or chest", this includes the groin, and since a crucial part of ragdolls is the flailing arms and legs, most of the time there is no coherent defence you can put together. The singleplayer options are interesting, but there's only so much "AI locking onto my vitals" that I can take. The AI will chase the player around like in a catch-the-cursor game, and when the ragdolls are tangled in midair, the AI's legs will literally twist and connect with your head, chest or groin. Variations in difficulty and some totally random movement might be something to look into. However, the two-player option is a treasure hoard of fun - mainly because it lacks the see-through AI tactics and the unpredictable movement is so lulsy.

For those of you who like the game as it lies, I'd recommend using WASD or the arrow keys; for the click-and-drag, drag the legs. It seems that due to their length, and for some strange reason the ineffectiveness of kicks to the nuts, the legs are the way to go in order to at least have an advantage over the non-accustomed ragdoll fighter. It does need some practice to play the game, but the learning curve is nonexistent and the player feels their way through the game as the AI pummels them to death with programming worthy of a guided missile's targeting system.

Despite all its flaws, it's something I haven't seen around Newgrounds before, and for the novelty and the sheer lulz of ragdoll fighting, good sir, I've rounded it up and rated it a 4/5.
