I like the whole options like mission 1,2,3 and i like the description of the mission and the radio conversations in the game i didnt like the controls shoot should be space and have numbers like 1,2,3 to change weapons and i didnt like the way you couldnt see your bullets and i think you should let the planes move more quickly and freely. there should be also more planes to kill. I liked it though and it has a lot of potentionl
Putting in an option to change the control system to what you suggest shouldn`t be very difficult. I`m sorry about the invisible bullets, but they would slow the game down too much, and this was the best way I could think of to keep it playable when lots of things are happening.

One Thumb Up, One Down
it needs to be a bit more control-responsive, and the airplane sometimes ends up flying sideways, wings ground-to-sky. Also, the black line spitting the bg isn't too attractive.
Maybe you should change it to being a vertically scrolling shooter... like 1942 or Tigershark. You could modify whatever routines you use for altitude to work for that, and it might help with thesideways airplane bug. Also, it's a little too hard to kill the bad guys. You should consider making them a little easier to defeat. And missiles didn't always launch, which didn't help with killing the baddies.
On the other hand, you've put a lot of work into this, and I don't just have critisizms. The settings and controls were well thought out, and it worked, and it was amusing, and while obviously far from complete, it didn't make me feel like I wasted my time. Which is more than most movies I see here end up doing for me.
Keep working on it, it has real promise.
Thanks for the criticisms, I`ll see what I can do about the problems you mentioned asap. I don`t think I`ll change the game format, because I would end up throwing a lot of my work away.
