Reviews for "Lair Y Defense"

Enjoyed.

Got too wave 18, thought it was alright.

People bitching; Learn to change weapon.

Good but

Lots of good stuff going on here. One of which is that the first weapon isn't over powered or underpowered, what people lack is using the garage ability. The little ninja kids die in one smack with a fully upgraded shockwave or damage (from the garage). That being said, this gets a 7 because it was too easy. I got to level 11 with the following
Maxed Plunger
Level 2 wall
Level 1 gumball
Maxed garage (minus the "hydraulics")
Then I purchased the laser, but without upgrading it, it sucks. The recharge on that doesn't pay off. I killed a boss with it, but then got overwhelmed with 2 tanks, lacking only a few more hits to survive.

OK, but not perfectly balanced

- The reload speed is way too slow.
- The waves are too quickly getting stuffed with hard enemies from lvl 10 on, so a not 100% perfect upgrade setup leads to a quick death.
- The weapons pros and cons and functionality should be explained somewhere
Is throwing toilets better than frieing enemies with a laser? Or only for some enemies? Whats the improvement of the egg gun towards the plunger??

I lost my crosshair on lvl 6 or so. Got it back on lvl 9 or 10. :(
I Used a right-click to make my normal mouse cursor visible and played with that...

So it needs some overhault, but still makes fun.

This is really too hard to be enjoyable. A fix to balance difficulty would be great, can't pass the first waves because of some enemies stealing every money gained, while some guys shoot the hell out of the base.

Sudden death mode robs the game of fun

The good: The game is very good in general. A nice mix of wepons and upgrades with good sound and animation.

The bad: There is a lot of clicking (which is pretty minor. The big problem is that the game will end when you die.

How to make this a ten: Keep the cash you earn when you die, upgrade and start at the same level.

I found that there were many stratigies in what to buy and when. For example, having a second gun ment I could quickly switch to it instead of reloading. The trouble wit the 1-and-only-one-death is that, once I had gotten to a well invested point with one strategy I couldn't change. In short I would have to play this game for 100's of hours to beat it (if thats possible). When death wipe my progress for the second time, I wrote this review and walked away.

It seems petty to rate this a 6/10 for a simple thing, but the simple thing is driving me away from the game. It is a huge issue for the casual player.
