Still, not a fan of the pitless acid. Sure, fall in a pit of it and die... but when it's flat with the ground, it seems to feel like your big toe lands over and you spontaneously combust. 3rd area is just a lot of yellow anyway and hard to see what's actually safe. It'd be find of nice if it just did a lot of damage. Too much importance placed on jumping for a shooter... it's basically just a jumping game where you press space in a burst a few times whenever an enemy appears on screen... enemies kill me 5% of the time at best... closer to 50/50 environment/enemies would feel better. If you want to focus on the environment, then focus on giving baddies freezing, glue guns or whatever to assist it instead of having them almost all just run up to uncomfortably awkward range and explode really fast.
Worm is a nice touch, but dare I say overused. It makes the whole game really frantic without allowing any part to really be strategic. While surprising at first, it quickly becomes little more than a generic scrolling wall of death. Basically, if you go fast all the time, there's no acceleration and deceleration which is what you can actually feel... best to save stuff like the worm for special moments... when you think you've lulled the player into a sense of complacency, etc (oh, look the exit's right there, exit explodes, worm starts chasing you...)
