Reviews for "Steampack - Kids Edition"

Controls seem fine to me o_o

Giving this a 5/5 to offset the low scores from the folks with poor hand eye coordination and or gimp hands.

The game is simple and fun. Reminiscent of classic NES games like another reviewer said. The controls are obvious and not that difficult. Yet another case of people who fail bringing a game down because of their lack of skill/coordination.

Kids these days, they want everything handed to them. Thank you vartagh for releasing a game that requires at least SOME skill.

vartagh responds:

thank you RoMeJo for you very very kind and cool review :)

Great game

Had fun with it, played both versions, didn't see much of a difference.
Music was fun, entertained me for awhile :)

Anyone who thinks this isn't for kids, clearly, did not have an NES and play the old megaman games, or ninja turtles. That water level with electric seaweed was damn hard.

Lemme guess,"I play halo and get kills, So I R good gamer, dis game too hard bcuz I bad at it."

vartagh responds:

good old 8 bit games were harder for sure!!! :)))

for kids my butt

very challenging. I really couldnt get the timing right on the jet pack to traverse narrow ways of spikes.

Not any easier than the first one.

I've played both all the way through, and really, anybody who would hand this version to their kids and say, "beat this, it's easy," is probably looking to raise a kid with severe confidence issues. When I saw the title, I decided that it was not worth my time and navigated to your profile to find the adult version.

The problem was the pace of the game. It's simply too fast for human interaction. In a good game, you can see what you're doing wrong and correct yourself in real time. But not this game. In this game, you simply have to find exactly the right rhythm for horizontal flight and apply it tirelessly across long distances. That's the only strategy there is. Tapping the arrow keys for ridiculously small amounts of time will send you flying across half the map.

Also, what kind of a man builds a ruby-powered, steam-propelled jetpack and fails to include a variable valve in his design? He is neither a gentlemen nor a scholar and must return his top hat to the proper authorities this instant!

simpler controls

The problem isn't that the controlls are "complicated". up, down, left, right.
If you take bad controlls and make them simple, they become simply bad controlls.

None of the puzzles are complicated, with one glance of the screen you know exactly what to do, but due to the bad controlls- getting your character to do what you want done is tedious to say the least.
it was a perfectly fine game otherwise.
