Not any easier than the first one.
I've played both all the way through, and really, anybody who would hand this version to their kids and say, "beat this, it's easy," is probably looking to raise a kid with severe confidence issues. The problem was the pace of the game. It's simply too fast for human interaction. In a good game, you can see what you're doing wrong and correct yourself in real time. But not this game. In this game, you simply have to find exactly the right rhythm for horizontal flight and apply it tirelessly across long distances. That's the only strategy there is. Tapping the arrow keys for ridiculously small amounts of time will send you flying across half the map.
