Annoying glitch
Fun game, really like it. Though I noticed a problem that I think's a glitch or something. When you're being shot, especially with an enemy's automatic weapon, you can't fire back. Or more accurately you can fire back but your bullets won't hit anything, I know it wasn't just me missing cause I tested it a number of times and each time I couldn't hit anything with any weapon. Other than that the game's great.
A bit of an odd glitch
after the first boss, I went to look at the upgrades, see what I could get. I accidentally clicked the PlayHub Link, and it gave me the achivement for kill 500 enemies, still good

A classic base-defense shooter. This genre seemingly was becoming very refined around the turn of the 2010's. While the gameplay still consists of the classic shooting from a fixed position, that fixed position just so happens to be attached to the back of a moving vehicle. This minor change in design adds so much as it makes for much more difficult, yet engaging, gameplay as enemies are constantly shifting position as vehicles move about.
The progression is a bit wonky though. I managed to purchase the best weapon by level 22.
