I would have really liked to have been given a reason why Sonic punched Shadow in the first place. Maybe in the final cut have a small underlining plot to bring the movie together in coherency. Additionally, the fighting just dragged on with nothing happenning. I could understand if you're waiting for a certain part of the song before bringing us any fast-paced battling in tune with the rhythm, but so far, very little has happenned between these two. A few sucker punches and staredowns.
I'm happy that very little seemed like a knock off of SMBZ, but that's the only bright side I found in this. The movie isn't finished, there's still time to improve your storytelling!
