but if you will use super mario chars id expect them to react the same as in a mario game. i died from jumping on bullet bills and kicking a turtle that wasnt up yet

But you couldn't even shoot fire balls or nothing. Also it was rather hard to jump as well.
You could make it so you can hold down Z or something to run and jump higher as well as add weapons.
When I heard the title i thought maybe you were going to incorporate the pipes more and make it a more pipe concentrated version of mario. But you didn't. Alwell.
