Reviews for "Winter in Montreal"

A Pulchritudinous Gem

"Winter in Montreal" is a rare gem within the Newgrounds Audio Portal. Here is a song: it's professionally executed, melodic, and divine. These kinds of songs are extremely hard to find on this portal and here it is. "Winter in Montreal" really lives up to the title in terms of the music; the piano speaks softly and the drums gently help pushes while the guitar adds to the mood. It's a fantastic mixture of the three instruments (and I am sure there is more, but to the amateur ears such as mine, that is what I can hear primarily). I am glad to have run into your music and hope to hear more from you.

Soundshifter responds:

thanks a lot dude, im really glad you liked it

Nothing short of amazing!

Wasn't sure if it was just a loop of if the song wasn't over yet a few times. You put just about all of your headroom to use, I love that sound!

I can't believe how you made that guitar solo work! Soo emotional! How did you get the guitar solo sound?

Soundshifter responds:

ha thanks man:) well i have this program on my mac (not sure if its for pc) and its called "guitar rig." it has incredible sounds. as for the solo..it was all improv. blues scales really help :D

I loved it.

I really like it, it's emotional. Doesn't really make me think of Montreal, but that's probably because the only time I went there I got lost in downtown. =P

Soundshifter responds:

haha cool. thx

cold

quite an enjoyable peice of music man. I really enjoyed the finger picking on the guitar and the piano arpeggios. all the notes in this piece were wellc chosen. The lead guitar was a nice change up.

Soundshifter responds:

thanks dude

Very nice

It was a calming piece of music. The piano was very nice to the guitar and drums, and nothing was over-complex. Tell you this though, the guitar solo offset the feel of the rest of the music. Overall, good tune!

Soundshifter responds:

hey thanks, i know... i wanted that tho. the solo that is..i wanted it to build, become more passinoate. thanks again
