Reviews for "Snailiad"

I have only played it for a few minutes and

its like you put all the good classic games in to one, Mario, metroid, and heck even a Zelda refrence "its dangerous to go out alone take this" its clear to me you respect the older games where they were simple to play but hard to beat, a job well done

What a fantastic game!

It seems that your love of video games has been expressed in this game! It is also very clear where you got your inspiration from(from Megaman thru to Metroid). The way that you have to discover new items/abilities to continue onward and the hidden rooms throughout made it a blast to look for. The backtracking was a little tedious, as some parts of the map and hidden paths were out of reach til you had certain abilities to get there faster, which meant dying a bit, but that isn't a deal breaker or anything. People who are Metroid masters will know how and where to look for all the secret goodies and paths, and those brought up on NES will know the difficulty right away. I think there is this great balance between gameplay, reward, music and replay that says something about your game making abilities. This could of easily been a PS stor, Xbox Arcade, or Wii game download to be paid for(like 5-10 bucks) but im glad i got to play it for free, thank you! Your hard work is appreciated!

Exubrant

This game is very good i've been playing it for days and wow i just now found everything. thats was excellent placements for the secret rooms and shells i enjoyed this game very much you should make a second part to it or kind of like a prequel where you play as moon snail and learn about him.

BRAVO, JUST so much win!

<3 this game! brings back memories of the good ol' NES time :D I still have all tho old consoles and games. If at all possible could you turn this into a downloadable version that I can put on my Desktop? That more make it work a a NES Emulator. Thx dude your awesome.

Wow.

Damn, 100% items took a while. I had to use a spoiler map at some point because it was getting soooo frustrating. Esp. when you had a secret room hidden behind another secret room...

Btw, spoiler map for those who need it. http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/revi ews/573352/1

Anyways, props to creative boss fights, cheesy adorable story, and a good progression of difficulty. Kinda was hoping for a secret final boss fight once you got all the shells, but minor point. Loved the creepy atmosphere and feeling of the Shrine of Isis.

I don't know about other people. But I loved the gravity snail mechanic. When I first fell down that really long shaft, I was like "Oh crap. Long corrider." Then, I got the gravity snail, and thought, damn this is awesome!

In short, awesome game. Thanks.
