Pretty good.
34050 was my final score.
I wish I had read the author comments before hand to avoid those black gems I kept collecting. I'd recommend a small tutorial bit explaining the point system as well as maybe some kind of punishment for dying (-500 points?). This won't necessarily wow anybody and I'm sure this will get plenty of negative comments, but it's a great start for a first game.

The songs are really nice, and I like how you're using Jazz to try and set the mood.
I took a look at your Edward engine from your website. It looks impressive, but the game design itself could use some more work.
Graphics need some work, though, especially the backgrounds. Large, single-colored backgrounds, especially white, are quite the turnoff. Consider adding more illustration to the backgrounds, especially in the later levels, where you're on moving platforms, so it looks like you're actually moving.
When you go to the bottom of the screen, the player is cut off at the bottom. At various points in the levels, there are "leaps of faith", where you cannot see where you are jumping. Please bring the target platforms closer into view, or redesign those portions of the level, so that such leaps are not required.
I like how the scroll stays locked onto the player's character, and doesn't slowly sweep behind him.
Change the Textfield objects so that they cannot be selected. Also, allow players to skip the opening storyline.
One thing that stands out is the file size. I've played the first few levels, and from what is presented, including the various cool songs, this doesn't warrant a 10MB SWF. Please consider optimizing assets where possible.
Having infinite lives and the checkpoints are cool, too.
Again, your engine sounds really impressive, just get your game design skills near the same level (or outsource the design). (:

Great concept
I liked the concept of this game, and you certainly had the right idea. The only thing that was wrong, was that the art was to simplistic, and didn't have enough details.
an Ok game But...
dont get me wrong, your game keep me playing until i finished. you have good ideas and game itself was bit entertaining. but still game lacks few things. i really dont care a lot of Graphics because a good game with a solid gameplay and fun its better than a game with awesome graphics.
sometimes its hard to tell if that graphic its background or collision zone. i know this a flash game. but you should take the example of "hunters" Series. they have Simple graphics but easy to tell if that part its background. the game lacks few parts backgrounds.
in some point of the game i just wanted to "rush" my game because graphics dont catch my "eye" enjoying the game cuz the plain and simple backgrounds.
anyways Story and gameplay its good i dont have complaing about them. just try to pulish a bit your game and will be more entertaining and fun to play.
